The effective laser acne treatment results in smoother, freshing looking skin whilst reducing the signs of acne scarring and redness. Acne often occurs during adolescence during times of hormonal change and can cause long lasting damage to the skin.

Intense blue-wavelength light targets the acne-causing bacteria and rapidly reduces the bacteria without damaging the surrounding tissue, and can actually decrease the inflammatory response. Additionally the heat helps to regulate oil production, effectively treating the acne and leaving you with a clearer skin.
The erbium glass-fiber laser system emits an array of microscopic light beams that selectively target and heat problem or damaged areas in the skin. This laser can be precisely controlled to create a series of tiny, pixel-sized or ‘fractional’ perforations within the treatment zone.
By effectively rebuilding or replacing ‘columns’ of skin tissue while leaving the surrounding tissue intact, the laser promotes skin rejuvenation. As a non-ablative laser, it uses a wavelength that heats the water in the tissue without causing it to evaporate (ablate).
The result is smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin.
Before starting the treatment program, we will perform a skin test on the treatment area during the first session to ensure your skin is suitable for the procedure.
During the procedure, we apply the laser handpiece to your skin, moving it across the treatment area several times in different directions to ensure even coverage.
Since the rays of the fractional laser heat your skin, we can apply a topical anesthetic cream to the treatment area if needed. However, the ClearSkin Er:Glass has an integrated contact cooling system to further minimize discomfort.

Generally most patients will need 4-6 treatments done in 2 week intervals. Treatment is suitable for most people; however, prior to treatment a free consultation is mandatory during which a medical history is taken and an assessment of the desired treatment area is carried out. This will then allow the practitioner to determine suitability for treatment, how many sessions will be required and the expected results.
There is little or no downtime with this fast and effective treatment. However, there may be some mild redness on the skin.
